"Debate is a significant element of Tibetan Buddhist education. By debating, Buddhist monks challenge all the doubts or misconceptions they have until they get to unshakable conviction. Logic is the tool that will enable them to understand and internalize the different concepts that are fundamental on the Buddhist Path, from the precious human rebirth to emptiness.  
  
How might we be able to follow their path? Geshe Tharchin, who has many years’ experience in debating and teaching how to debate, gives an introduction to Tibetan Buddhist Debate. He explains why logic is so important and how it works. By using practical examples, he guides us in how to use this very important tool to move from wrong view to valid cognition. This teaching requires some knowledge of basic concepts of Tibetan Buddhism such as impermanence."
