"This is an urgent appeal to support the medical cost of UK Buddhist Nun Dechen Drolkar who is currently in critical condition in a Nepali Hospital. On the night of December 28th 2016 Ani Dechen Drolkar fell from the fourth floor of the Shedra building at Tsoknyi Gechak Ling Nunnery, Chobhar Kathmandu. Miraculously, she survived. As a result of this fall Ani la broke her ribs, pelvis, and lower legs. She also sustained compression fractures of two vertebrae and a small bleed inside her skull. Her spinal cord is intact but the doctors are yet unsure if she will regain full movement and feeling. Though her physicians feel she can recover from her injuries, she remains confused and traumatised. We have been unsuccessful in all attempts to locate and contact next of kin. Ani Dechen Drolkar, who just turned 60, ordained as a Buddhist nun in Scotland in the 1990s. She has been in Nepal for about 7 years, studying and staying at various Buddhist institutes. As she was already ordained and willing to accept the simple living conditions of the nuns at Tsoknyi Gechak Ling she has been staying at TGL as a guest for the last 5 years.
