"Khenpo Sherab Sangpo, a professor of Tibetan Buddhism in the Nyingma Lineage (bodhicittasangha.org), teaches his students about cultivating a genuine appreciation for the preciousness of life. When we cultivate appreciation for our lives, this increases our capacity to be fully present with each moment as it arises. By practicing appreciation, we don’t require anything special and can love life as it is. This genuine love allows us to share our life with others. Based on the advice of Patrul Rinpoche, Khenpo Sherab Sangpo advises his students to cultivate five qualities: 1) be kind and gentle, 2) be satisfied and remain stable, 3) be self-controlled, 4) examine things carefully, and 5) be altruistic toward all. These five qualities develop our wisdom of how to live a life of genuine love with great equanimity. The teaching ends with a guided meditation on loving-kindness".
