Saga Dawa (also called Vesak Day) Celebrating the Buddha's birth, awakening, and parinirvana Friday, June 9, 2017 On Vesak Day, we celebrate the Buddha's birth, awakening, and parinirvana and rejoice in our own potential to become fully awakened. As we remember the kindness of our root teacher, Shakyamuni Buddha, we also honor all the teachers who have brought the Dharma to our hearts and minds.
