Uppdrag granskning" avsnitt 15 i SVT Play http://www.svtplay.se/uppdrag-granskning?cmpid=del:em:pl:20161208:uppdrag-granskning:pla0

"Mongolia turns to India after transport blockade by China following Dalai Lama visit. DHARAMSHALA: The Mongolian ambassador to India on Tuesday called on India to extend support in relieving his Country from the crisis that has resulted after China began imposing transport tariffs on Mongolia bound transport vehicles carrying essential supplies. China has cracked down on their neighbor for allowing the exiled Tibetan leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama to visit the country in November. The Mongolian envoy Gonchig Ganbold said, “India should come out with clear support against the difficulties that have been imposed on Mongolia by China, which is an overreaction to the religious visit by His Holiness Dalai Lama.” Earlier Beijing cancelled two crucial bilateral meetings with Ulaanbaatar and indicated that Mongolian PM’s visit scheduled in a few months is also in doubt, alleging that the hosts have given exiled Tibetan leader Dalai Lama a platform to carry out his divisive activities. Last month, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said, “The erroneous action taken by the Mongolian side on Dalai’s visit hurt the political foundation of China-Mongolia relations and exerted negative impact on the development of bilateral relations.” However, Ganbold asserted that Mongolia has, “not changed our ‘One China’ policy, so Beijing’s response to Mongolia hosting the spiritual leader is really not justifiable.” The Ambassador further said that the blockade like situation prevails due to the tariffs imposed on over-land transit vehicles. “With winter temperature already around minus-20 degrees, transport obstruction by China is likely to create a humanitarian crisis in Mongolia as these measures will hurt the flow of essential commodities,” he said. The Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi has been briefed on the details of the scenario in Chinese province, Inner Mongolia where the situation continue to unfold.
