"Mudra Arpan ཕྱག་རྒྱའི་མཆོད་པ། The mudras are symbolic of the deity’s enlightened body, speech, and mind. In category there are many mudras indicating different representations, likewise the Mudras of five Buddha family, peaceful and wrathful deities mudras are the primary symbolic manifestation of themselves in the form of mudra. Also there are different types of mudras, such as; invocation of Deities and beseech their blessings, granting empowerment, and also gestures for offerings such as seven common offerings mudras etc. Almost, all mudras are beautifully performed after the gesture of full lotus flower, (པད་སྐོར།) to symbolize whatever the mudras that are being performed is unstained by the impure perceptions just as how lotus grows from the muddy pond yet it is unaffected by the dirts. Any mudra that is being performed, it falls within the context of the four Mudras; Samaya mudra, Karma mudra, Dharma mudra, and Maha Mudra. According vajrayana teachings, since nothing is ultimately impure so there’s no discrimination towards the relative perception instead it is utilized fully under the very skillful manner associated by the right view and the confidence of samadhi. If you have no clue about the view of vajrayana doctrines, It might seem little illogical to hear. So therefore the practices of mudras in pujas are not just an ordinary as they seem, it is profound and vast."
